Mobile Whack Has an Interesting article about the 2nd quarter results of mobile phone sales. Turns out that blackberries RIM Operating system has beaten windows mobile operating system as far as market share is concerned. Blackberry have doubled their market share inside of a year but more impressively the iPhones operating system has trebled it’s market Share within the same amount of time. The biggest looser seems to be Symbian which has lost about 10% from 65.6% to 57.1%.
Nice video of the blackberry kickstart;

More details about the blackberry kickstart have been leaked, the Kickstart flip phone. Oh, and there’s the first picture we’ve seen of the front 160 x 128 LCD display and 2 megapixel camera. Yeah, it looks like just every other flip phone with an external display and a camera, there’s a couple more shots at the read link to keep you warm until this thing finally hits.

Story
I recently got the blackberry 8800 mobile phone for myself and so far it has been the best phone that I have ever owned, it has lots and lots of features but you can’t take advantage of all of them on PAYG (Pay As You Go). Which was what I was using, so I wanted to replicate the normal features such as push email but with a PAYG contract. To replace the email I used googles gmail program for mobiles and forwarded all of my existing email addresses to my gmail address and it has worked very well so far.
Some other changes that I made was to install opera mini and a new theme, as the t-mobile theme that it came with was less than inspiring, did look into making my own themes for it but installing the software developers kit was impossible and then some (I would have done it but they had dependencies on software that wasn’t free).
